(December 10, 2020) --

DHP Marine Educator Virginia Driskell explains what Gulf Island Journey campers just discovered during their salt marsh excursion.

Trade jingle bells for jingle shells! From December 10 through December 17, Discovery Hall Programs is offering a limited number of camp certificates for you to give as holiday gifts. You can choose from Barrier Island Explorer (rising 5th-6th graders), Marine DeTECHtives (rising 7th-8th graders), Gulf Island Journey (rising 7th-9th graders), or Bay Voyager (rising 9th-12th graders).

These overnight camps give children a chance to discover the coastal marine ecosystems and learn new skills. Camp experiences include kayaking, beach excursions, building underwater remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), and trawling in Mobile Bay.

Contact dhpsummer@disl.edu with your desired camp session and receive a certificate to wrap for under the tree. Camp registration certificates are $100 and applied to the total camp cost.

Sessions must be selected by February 1, 2021, which is when camp registration is opened. To learn more about each camp, click here.
