(May 29, 2020) --

With the reopening of the state at the direction of Governor Ivey, Discovery Hall Programs will be again hosting summer camps with an altered summer camp schedule (described below).

Currently registered campers have received a confirmation email detailing changes to the camp session they are scheduled to attend.

"We are excited to share that we will be able to hold several of our summer camps starting June 28," Dr. Tina Miller-Way, Discovery Hall Programs Chair, said. "While we have always had student and camper safety foremost in our plans, we have developed and implemented a COVID-focused safety plan this year."

The plan details extra precautions DISL is taking, additional procedures adopted, and new requirements for campers and staff. In short, DHP will have daily health checks of all campers and staff, follow physical distancing guidelines, and require wearing masks in group situations and an increased frequency of cleaning and sanitizing of areas used by campers and students.

Dr. Miller-Way adds, "Unfortunately, we will not be able to host day camps this year, but hope that we see you and your ocean enthusiasts at day camps in 2021."

Please feel free to contact Discovery Hall Programs by email or phone with any questions you may have. DHP and DISL understand that these changes may not fit every family’s plan and for this, we apologize and all requests for refunds will be honored.
