The Dauphin Island Sea Lab Foundation hosted the first Discovery Series event on Friday, January 19. Jun Ebersole of the McWane Science Center introduced the Friends of the Sea Lab to Alabama's sea monsters.

Along with learning about the fossils found throughout the state of Alabama, Estuarium Educator Mendel Graeber helped the children create their own fossil to take home.

The DISL Foundation will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Estuarium with their next event on Friday, March 23. A panel of speakers will discuss the past, present, and future of the Dauphin Island Sea Lab's public aquarium.

The Friends of the Sea Lab membership dollars support activities and projects at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. Visit today to become a Friend of the Sea Lab and secure your spot for future exclusive events, like the Discovery Series.
