Alabama's Coastal Cleanup celebrated 30 years with this year's cleanup. The Dauphin Island Sea Lab's Graduate Student Organization led the cleanup efforts on Dauphin Island.

Around 900 people volunteered, which was one of the largest turnouts at a single site for the state of Alabama. Among those volunteers, were 36 Dauphin Island Sea Lab students.

Around 400 bags of trash were cleaned up with some of the largest pieces being tires, part of a port-a-john, a floating dock, a giant rubber duck, and a car bumper.

If you would like to volunteer for Alabama's Coastal Cleanup, mark your calendar to sign up in September.
