Marine Microbiology
This course explores the cell structure, genetics, metabolism, diversity, and ecology of microorganisms, which an emphasis on roles of microorganisms in marine and aqueous environments. Detailed topics include microbial community interactions, impacts on ocean processes, and biogeochemical cycling.
Through lectures, discussions, presentations and hands-on laboratory activities, students will learn the basics of microbiology, their importance to ecosystem processes, and how to conduct and present scientific research.
