Observations from GRACE: Climate Variation and the Water Cycle (virtual)
Date: February 24, 2026
Time: 4 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. CST
Location: Zoom
Once registered, a Zoom link will be provided.
Dive into NASA’s Gravity, Recovery and Climate Experiment-Follow On (GRACE-FO) Satellite mission to bring climate variability and the water cycle into your classroom! Explore data generated by GRACE-FO and examine the relationship between the water cycle and global warming with interactive lessons and games. Lessons and slides will be shared with participants.
This 2 hour workshop is limited to 25 participants. A stipend and participation certificate will be provided upon completion.
Target audience: middle and high school educators
This fun-filled workshop will include:
- An introduction to the Sea Level Rise Education, Awareness and Literacy program
- Several lessons handouts with hands on activities and a slide presentation that support current NGSS standards which will increase student understanding of how climate variability is measured, its relationship to sea level rise, the impact it has on the water cycle and possible solutions for changing sea level.
- Reflection and discussion of how to implement the provided materials
- Easy access to NASA educational resources
- An opportunity for a second stipend if you are interested in using and evaluating the material before the end of the school year.
