Join Discovery Hall Programs educators and Sea Lab scientists this summer for an introduction to oceanography looking at the ocean in an interdisciplinary way that integrates biology, physical science, and earth science.

This workshop will include field work, chats with research scientists and exploration of classroom activities that can be used to address multiple science, engineering and math standards using ocean examples. We’ll cruise local waters to deploy ocean sensing tools, guide you as you build a few of your own ocean tools, explore hands-on and data-rich activities suitable for the classroom and chat about the blue economy and future workforce opportunities.

During our time together, we’ll accelerate your learning about current environmental technologies and work to increase your confidence in using ocean-focused activities in your classrooms.

Please note that this workshop is geared to middle and high school teachers, but all educators are welcome to apply.
