This day-long camp for ages 10-13 years puts campers’ survival skills to the test! Campers will develop new skills - how to toss a cast net, how to bait a crab trap, how to drag a seine, and how to bring in the catch of the day while pier fishing – as they get up close and personal with each animal species brought ashore. The educators from the Dauphin Island Sea Lab will share stories throughout the day as campers learn about coastal Alabama’s natural resources.
- What to wear: comfortable shoes and clothes that can get wet and messy.
- What to bring: swimsuit, refillable water bottle, sunscreen, towel, and lunch (refrigeration provided).
- What to know: Campers are outside much of the day. There will be frequent water breaks, and a mid-afternoon snack break (snacks are provided but feel free to send your camper’s favorite).
