Ocean STEAMers

Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. CST February 1, 2027.

Camp registrations are processed in the order in which they are received.

This day-long camp for ages 8-11 allows campers to explore their interests in ocean STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math).

They will set sail on a de-light-ful expedition throughout the day investigating the use of colors and patterns in Alabama’s coastal animals in the lab and on the beach, using colors to describe what we see in our sketchbook, making ‘deep sea’ goggles, and engineering a bit of circuitry to make a bioluminescent animal.

Campers will be inside and outside during the day. There will be frequent water breaks, and a mid-afternoon snack break (snacks are provided but you’re welcome to send your camper’s favorite).

What to wear and bring: Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothes that can get wet and messy. You will need to bring a swimsuit, refillable water bottle, sunscreen, towel, and lunch (refrigeration provided).

Registration Information

Space is limited. Please complete the online registration form (available during open registration and until sessions fill). Once your registration has been processed and space is available in the session, you will receive a follow-up email from the DHP registrar with payment instructions. Your space is not secured until payment is received.

Refund Policy: No refunds will be granted less than two weeks prior to the camp date.

The Dauphin Island Sea Lab reserves the right to cancel the program in the event enrollment is inadequate. Noncompliance with the rules of the program results in expulsion and forfeiture of the program cost.
