(September 11, 2015) --

Students with special needs and their guardians will explore the oceans and learn about marine science at Sea Stars, an adventurous three-day buddy camp at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab (DISL). This exciting camp takes place October 2-4, and participants will stay in accommodations at the DISL.

Participants will explore coastal habitats with experienced marine educators, including the barrier island beach, salt marsh and maritime forest. A boat trip in Mobile Bay will reveal an in-depth look at the sea creatures that call those waters home!

This weekend experience is designed for students ages 9-18 with developmental disabilities. Paired with their guardians, campers will explore the wonderful marine world in a safe, hands-on and fun atmosphere.
